Plan to Paint and Participate in a fun experience with Visual Artist Emma Barnes. >>THEY ARE FREE TO THE PUBLIC<< Join Lowcountry Artist Emma Barnes for a workshop in cyanotype printing. It's a photographic process in which the sun is used to expose an image or object into a deep blue print.

Materials Needed:
Watercolor paper
Objects you’re interested in exposing or photo negatives
Sheet of glass
Bostick & Sullivan cyanotype fluid,
Bucket of water
Plastic gloves
Emma Barnes is a painter and printmaker raised in Islandton, South Carolina. She attended the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities in high school and later graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a Bachelor's in Painting & Printmaking. After graduating, Emma and her best friend Elisa Rios co-founded Guard n' Flags, a custom screen printing business in Richmond, VA. Since moving back to South Carolina she has volunteered at the Beaufort Arts Council, became an advisor for Responsible Artistry Nonprofit, and lead after school art clubs at the Lowcountry Montessori School. Last summer Emma attended Athena Standards, an art residency in Athens, Greece. This year her work was accepted in the National Juried Show "Interiors" at the Cape Cod Museum of Art, and she was chosen for the South Carolina Commission for the Arts Artist Directory. Currently Emma is pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts at Alfred University.
