The Ocean Drum is a drum that makes the sound of the ocean when it is tilted and rolled. Sasa and Roland are well know in the area for their drum making classes. Class is $75 and includes all the supplies to make 1 ocean drum. This is a quality instrument. 9am session (9-11:30)

There is the pm session (12 - 2:30). Check that you are signing up for the time you want.

This is the Afternoon Session. (Building 1) Class includes materials to make one ocean drum. This is a real instrument. This wonderful instrument is covered with two goat skin heads filled with pellets that allow a soothing ocean sound. Bring your favorite strip of fabric ¼ of a yard is more than sufficient, along with your strong hands, and your rhythmic heart for a wonderful experience. Presenters Bios: Saundra Boyd “Sasa,” the owner of Sasa’s Ile and Retreat on Saint Helena Island, is an early childhood educator, drum workshop facilitator, and village elder. Roland Jackson, Master Djembe Fola, is an award winner of the 2018 Veterans Association Gold Award for Mibira (Kalimba/thumb piano). He is a drum maker, teacher, and world traveler.
