In Memory Of

On February 1, 2022, The Beaufort Arts Council experienced a tremendous loss of

artistic talent, unwavering advocacy, and humanitarianism when Diane Britton

Dunham left her earthly mecca. A humanitarian at heart, Diane loved the arts in

all forms and lived the life she loved by affiliating with various organizations that

embraced the arts. She will be missed for her authenticity, masterful portrayal of

paintings that captured the essence of African American experiences, landscapes,

and customs in the Lowcountry as well as Louisiana’s marshes, bayous, horizons,

and landscapes. She manifested a rainbow of talent in her artistry and will be

remembered for her brilliant use of color, intricate landscape designs, and

colorful themes that brought to life the excitement and flavor of South Carolina’s

Lowcountry region and the bayous of Louisiana.

4 Words To Describe Diane:

Vibrant, Immersing, Unrelentless, Creative
