About Lisa:

Lisa Rivers is a self-taught artist specializing in modern art. Mediums include acrylic, oil and multimedia. As a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Lisa Rivers would gaze at graffiti and watch artist splash murals on buildings. Growing up, she would visit family in the south and later in life would relocate there with her children.

Rivers began to paint at the age of 52 only to prove her talent to her 4 children. As Christmas gifts to her children, these originals were the very first paintings that began an amazing career as an artist.

Lisa Rivers now resides on St. Helena Island, S.C. where she embraces the southern lifestyle. Rivers has now created works of amazing art scenes of her memories. Paintings are of a wide variety as Lisa Rivers creates Gullah art, abstract, multimedia, and her Level Minded copyrighted series. The beautiful vibrant colors and story within each piece will catch your attention. You will feel the love from her heart, left within each paint stroke.

Lisa Rivers’ work is on permanent display nationally at Hilton Head Middle School on Hilton Head Island, S.C.; the Tabernacle Baptist Church Museum in Beaufort, S.C.; and the Beaufort County Black Chamber of Commerce in Beaufort, S.C.

Her work has also been displayed in museums including the National Afro-American Museum and Cultural Center in Wilberforce, Ohio; and The York W. Bailey Museum at Penn Center on St. Helena Island.
